{"id":660,"date":"2016-01-10T00:29:14","date_gmt":"2016-01-10T00:29:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dictionary.tellingthetruth.info\/?p=660"},"modified":"2016-10-29T14:00:33","modified_gmt":"2016-10-29T14:00:33","slug":"christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/truth.circlescosites.com\/dictionary\/christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They do not celebrate Christmas or Easter as religious holidays.<br \/>\nAll 2x2s do not celebrate Christmas or Easter in the same manner.<\/p>\n<p>Some 2x2s claim that rather than celebrate only Dec. 25, they celebrate or revere Jesus&#8217; birth all year long&#8211;since no one knows for certain exactly when Jesus was born.<\/p>\n<p>Some view Christmas as a pagan holiday and condemn Christmas trees as a Pagan custom, using:<\/p>\n<p>Jeremiah 10:2-4 &#8211; <em>Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Some 2x2s in various parts of the world celebrate Christmas as a secular holiday, giving gifts, a special meal, and with various degrees of decorations, usually not with a Christmas tree. Others consider Dec. 25 the same as any other day of the year. <\/p>\n<p>If the annual winter Special Meeting date happens to fall on Dec. 25, the Workers hold the Special Meeting on that day, regardless that it disrupts many family traditions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>They do not celebrate Christmas or Easter as religious holidays.
