To have a functioning group, <em>unity<\/em> is essential. <\/p>\n<p><em>Uniformity<\/em> and true <em>unity<\/em> are not the same thing. <em>Uniformity <\/em>strives for the appearance of <em>unity<\/em>, whereas Christian <em>unity<\/em> is based on true Christian love and humility, serving one another.The incentive to be united comes from various means. Unity may be caused by peer pressure, discipline, fear, threats, etc.  <em>Unity<\/em> is not proof of truth. <\/p>\n<p>Psalm 133:1 &#8211; <em>Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in <strong>unity!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Eph.4:3 &#8211; <em>endeavouring to keep the <strong>unity of the Spirit<\/strong> in the bond of peace.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Worker Quote: <em>Each passing year we value more those children of God in the little churches everywhere who deliberately and purposefully cultivate in their lives these graces so that wherever you may be placed your influence will tend toward promoting that <strong>unity of spirit<\/strong> that is so dear to the heart of God, and for which our Lord prayed so earnestly on that last night of His life <\/em>(<a href=\"http:\/\/<a href=\"http:\/\/www.trutharchive.net\/jack-carroll---the-boards-and-bars-of-the-tabernacle---bakersfield---1938\"\">Jack Carroll<\/a>, Bakersfield, 1938).<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Worker Quote: <em> One thing God asked them to do was: &#8220;Abide by my Word&#8221; Deut. 11:31-32. That would make them <strong>united<\/strong> and it is upon the basis of <strong>unity<\/strong> that fellowship has always rested\u2014and fellowship is the end towards which God has always worked. The crowning joy is fellowship. The fact that we preach the Gospel differently and worship differently is vital, but remember, it is only a means to an end. The greatest blessing His people enjoy is fellowship.
